I started out with a 3D program back in about 1992 when it was a much simpler affair and it sold then for about $600. Now it is a huge program and is used for effects in movies such as Titanic and now sells for around $1500. This is a long way from free but the capabilities are a long way from free also. I have heard it said that if you had no manual and had to figure out the whole program on your own it would take you 50 years. That's a problem since new upgrades come out every year and a half or so, at which point you would have to start over again. Click here: qaiserm
