AMD Global Telemedicine’s technology was selected by MercyCare Community Physicians for a first of its kind Telehealth Clinic in Iowa
AMD Global Telemedicine – December 21, 2015 – Telemedicine finds its way into one-stop-shopping in a retail store. AMD Global Telemedicine’s technology was selected by MercyCare Community Physicians for use in a first-of-its kind Telehealth Clinic in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
MercyCare Community Physicians wanted to make it easy, affordable and convenient for patients to visit a healthcare professional. The Clinical Assist telemedicine system and AGNES Interactive® MercyCare Telehealth Clinic with Clinical Assist telemedicine systemsoftware allows a registered nurse at MercyCare Telehealth Clinic to perform a clinical assessment on a patient, while at the same time having a consult with a remote physician. After the consult is complete, the information from the examination goes back to the patient’s primary care physician via the electronic medical record system or fax.
“AMD was there every step of the way to support us through the initial set up and integration of the equipment in our clinic,” commented Brooke Kensinger, MHA, Director of Business Health Solutions at MercyCare Community Physicians. “It was important for us to make the experience for our patients a nice transition from an in-person office visit to a telemedicine encounter, and AMD’s telemedicine technology has allowed us to do that,” added Kensinger.
The Clinical Assist telemedicine system is designed to accommodate multiple medical specialties and integrates with any video conferencing format. At the heart of the system is the AGNES Interactive software and connected medical devices that allow the onsite nurse to collect vital patient data, medical images and video and share it with the remote physician.
