TouchCare adds web-based admin support, direct patient billing capabilities, additional security and improved performance

PRWEB – November 12, 2015 – TouchCare is announcing a product update that delivers physicians and other health care providers with more features to help them easily adapt mobile video consults into their practices’ workflow. This includes a web-based dashboard for support staff to conduct common administrative functions on behalf of physicians and other clinic staff, an integrated payment platform for direct patient billing, and enhancements to application security and video performance.

TouchCare gives providers an immediate HIPAA-compliant telemedicine capability on iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. Set up is free, easy and only takes a few minutes. Providers simply download TouchCare, create a brief profile and invite their patients and colleagues to join their network. Connected users can schedule and perform secure video appointments with each other with no change in clinical workflow while working seamlessly alongside their existing EMR systems.

Based on the company’s thorough understanding of telemedicine workflow and testing in numerous clinical settings, the latest updates make TouchCare integration in day-to-day operations even more efficient. Updates for Practice users include:

The Practice Dashboard, which allows practices to appropriately delegate telemedicine workflow to the right staff members by granting access to conduct common functions on behalf of physicians and other team members. Accessible by desktop browser for easy viewing and faster management, the dashboard capabilities include clinic setup and profile management, patient invitations and onboarding, and appointment scheduling.

TouchCare’s new integrated credit card payment feature enables direct revenue generation via telemedicine and can be used to charge co-pays or fees for services. The app leverages Stripe, a leading mobile payment platform, to enable direct patient payment for TouchCare video calls. The provider can set or adjust the price for any scheduled call. They also have the option to do both free and paid consults, or ultimately waive a fee at the conclusion of a call. Patients must have a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover) on file before accepting a fee-based appointment to ensure seamless, automatic payment without any extra steps or follow up.

Additionally, all TouchCare users will benefit from appointment verification improvements including acceptance notifications, video enhancements to improve the quality and reliability of video connections, an optional security passcode feature and improved access to activity details, such as a display of pending connections and Recent Call list.
“TouchCare is creating a personalized network of patients, providers and institutions,” said Damian Gilbert, TouchCare’s founder and CEO. “Instead of connecting consumers to an unknown physician, we facilitate mobile video calls and deeper engagement with the doctors and practices individuals already know and trust. With new features like the admin dashboard and seamless billing, TouchCare further simplifies the administrative processes to allow providers to focus on their community of care, strengthening relationships, increasing convenience, enhancing efficiencies and improving outcomes for everyone involved.”

TouchCare is free to download and use for both patients and providers. Practice users have access to additional features, including the new Practice Dashboard and credit card payment processing, starting at $99 per provider per month, with volume based licensing available.

TouchCare is used by physicians and health care providers at some of America’s leading medical institutions in a variety of use cases, including appointment follow-ups, low acuity illness, urgent care, test results, chronic illness management, medication refills, afterhours care and more.
